POKOTABI / PLACES WORTH A DETOUR
はんじゃん HANJYAN
A bar with a selection of Japanese sake, plus grilled rice balls, ochazuke and ebi-pira. Settle in for a drink or finish a meal with something to eat.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Choose a sake, then round off the meal with a grilled rice ball or ochazuke. Hanjyan HANJYAN has options for evenings when the drink takes centre stage, as well as occasions when you want something light to eat.
The sake list identifies each bottle by origin and style. Options include Suigei, a dry junmai sake from Kochi, and Benten Musume, a dry junmai ginjo from Tottori. The menu also lists Shimeharitsuru Jun, a junmai ginjo from Niigata; Jikon, a junmai ginjo from Mie; and Harada, a junmai daiginjo from Yamaguchi. There is room to explore different styles as you decide what to pour.
Food options include grilled rice balls, ochazuke and ebi-pira. Choose ochazuke for a warm finish after drinks, or ebi-pira when you feel like something more substantial.
The bar offers dine-in service and table service, along with beer and other alcoholic drinks. It is open from 20:00 until 3:00 the following day on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. One visitor described the relaxed atmosphere as feeling “like home”.
